This diagram shows the variation of product of a factory during a whole year.
It can be seen from the figure that the product of January is the lowest of the year, which is 320 tons only. The product increases basically linearly during the following four months after January. The product reaches the first peak value of the year in May, which is nearly 650 tons.
After May, however, the product drops sharply until July. The product of July and August are basically unchanged, which are 430 and 450 tons respectively. From August to November, the product increases gradually again. It can be found from the figure that the product reaches the best record of the year in November, which becomes almost 680 tons. Unfortunately, the product drops suddenly in December.
It is believe that there are two reasons which result in the variation of the product. One is the weather, another is holiday.
The lowest product of the factory in January is caused by the cold weather. From January to May, the product increases obviously. This is because that weather becomes warm and comfortable.
The weather is very hot from June to July. Working efficiency of workers decreases gradually. As a result, the product drops sharply. After July,
the product increases again. There are two reasons involved. One is there are less holidays during the next four months, another is the weather becomes comfortable.
In the next month, the weather is getting cold. There are more holidays of this month, for instance, Christmas Day. Eventually the product of the
factory falls down again.
According to the analysis and discussion above, it can be concluded that the weather, and the holidays will significantly affect the product of the factory.
