本课课文是一篇杂志文章,信息量丰富,它主要介绍麦当劳的发展史和麦当劳成功 的原因。本文前半部分介绍麦当劳的建立和发展,有说明的特征;后半部分分析麦当劳 成功的原因。

. 文本特征
较之之前几个单元,本课课文的版面设计较为普通,没有图片的支持,也 没有字体的变化,而且篇幅较长。但该篇文章中有很多数字,学生第一眼就可 以看到许多年份的记载,结合文章标题“The Hamburger Business” ,学生可以猜 到这片文章按照时间顺序记载了麦当劳的发展。

2. 文本特点
1) 从本文语言来看,本课课文生词不多,语言较为简单,表层理解难度不 大。本文,尤其是第三到第五自然段,多数字,多细节,有利于培养学 生 scanning 寻读的能力。在句式上,本文有很多现在分词或过去分词做 状语的句子,由于学生之前对于此类句式也有过一些接触,在理解上不 会造成很大困难。 从本文的结构来看, 本文属于记叙文章, 结构清晰。 本文按照时间顺序, 记载了初始阶段 Ray Kroc 发现由两兄弟经营的麦当劳(Para 1~2), 而后叙 述麦当劳的发展史(Para 3~5),包括麦当劳成功的原因(Para 6~8),最后预 测麦当劳的发展趋势(Para 9)。学生们通过 skimming 这篇文章每一段的 第一句话,应该可以推断出本文结构。 从本文的内容来看,本文介绍了麦当劳的建立和发展,也分析了麦当劳 成功的原因,学生对本文话题麦当劳较为熟悉,但对于麦当劳的成立和 发展还有成功的原因并没有了解。

3. 阅读策略
通过指导学生 skimming 标题和每一段的第一句话,了解本文结构;通过引 导学生 scanning,提高学生寻读的能力,掌握文中大部分事实细节。

4. 学情分析
本课的主题是麦当劳,大部分学生对于麦当劳都不陌生,也会有自己的喜 好。但是大部分学生对于麦当劳是如何成立的应该没有了解,对于麦当劳为什 么这么成功也没有仔细思考过,这节课可以激发同学们的思考。博雅班的同学 整体英语水平较高,对于这篇文章在表层理解上不会有太多困难,所以要求老 师在帮助同学了解麦当劳的发展轨迹,理解了它的成功秘诀之后,进一步挖掘 文章的深层内涵,帮助同学们学以致用。

5. 阅读教学的重点与难点:
1) 培养学生运用 skimming 以及 scanning 的阅读策略,了解文章结构与文本细 节信息。 2) 使学生分析总结课文中没有提到的麦当劳的成功的原因, 并且将它学习借鉴 到自己的中式快餐店中。
