This module includes 2 units.this lesson is the first period of it: It provides the new words;heavy lift and the main sentences:threre are many fruits. This one is heavy. 2. teaching aims first,aims on the knowledge: to enable the students to master the main words and main sentences well; to enable the students to use the main points in a proper scene. Second,aims on the abilities; To help students improve the abilities of listening and speaking;’to encourage the students to communicate with others actively; Third,aims on the emotion; To arouse the students interesr in English; To enable the students to study in groups and cooperate skillfully. 3. Key and difficult points Key points;to use heavy and lift in a proper scene. Difficult points;make sure students can describe goods in the supermarket and their characters by using big,heavy ,small,long.short and so on. 4,teaching methods To cultivate the students abilities of listening,speaking,reading and writing,I will use Task-based method.I will let students learn in a real situation and that will help students get a better understanding of the contents.and in this lesson.communication method,audio-visual method.TPR method will be used. 5,Teaching aids In this lesson,I will use the multimedia computer,some pictures,word cards and tape recorder. 6.Teaching procedures Before my class ,I will divid the whole class into 4 groups.i will let them have a competition.if one student of a certain group has a very good behaviour,that will help their group advance one step.At last,we will see which group will reach the top first and win the flag. Step 1,warm-up First,greetings.say hello to my boys and girls,ask them :How are you?And you? Second,sing an English song together with my students,such as ;IF YOU ARE HAPPY CLAPP YOUR HANDS Third,make free talks,ask them questions,such as;Do you like shopping?why or why not? Step 2 Presentation First ,lead in.with the help of CAI,I will show Ms Smart,Sam,Amy and lingling.and give them a question:Where are Amy and lingling going// Next,I will plar the CO-ROM,have students listen carefully and think it over.have volunteers answer the question.anyone who gets the correct answer I will give him or her a very big thumb. Then I will give students another 2 questions; What are there in the supermarket/ Can lingling lift the bag?Why/
I will invite vonlunteers to answer these 2 questions.anyone who gets the correct answer I will give him a big applause in front of the whole class.At the same time, I will teach them the key words;heavy,lift;and the key sentences; threre are many fruits. This one is heavy.. With the help of word cards,I will ask students to read the key words one by one or group by group. Then ,I will make a chant; Heavy,heavy,it is heavy. Lift,lift,lift,I can lift it. After that,I will have students open their textbook,play the CD again,have students listen,point and find “big,heavy as quickly as possible.Meanwhile,I will invite volunteers to be little teachers,read the main sentences foe us. In this step, I want to train students pronunciation and innotations.with the help of CAI,I will provide a real situation and help students have a better understanding of the teaching contents. Step 3,Practice First,I will show a similar passage according to the teaching cotents we have learnt.Have students read the passage first and fill in the blanks with key points. Second,play a guessing game. I will put a bag full of school things on the desk.Ask students to come to the front and put their hands into the bag and close their eyes.Let them have a guess:What is in the bag?anyone who guesses correctly will help their group advance one step. Then,groupwork. Have students read the dialogue first and try to make a new one.Ask each group to come to the front and act the satory out.I will choose the best performance group and the best pronunciation group.These two groups will advance one step each. This step will not only practice the main sentences but also develop students abilities of good cooperation and creativity. Step 4 Consolidation and extention First, Have students open their Activity Book and do the Exercise 1 and Exercise 2. Next,make a survey. Have students work in groups and try to describe things they know and their characters,for example,sth,bag,adj,heavy.This bag is heavy.Ask them write them down as many as possible.i will choose one student to come to the front and tell us about their group form. Then,summary. In order to strength the knowledge we have learned in this lesson,I will invite students to make a saummary first then I will summarise it. Then ,I will let students look at the board and see which group is the winning group.i will give all the menbers of that group a big applause. Step 5 Homework Have students listen ,reapeat and imitate the CD of this lesson 3 times. I want to help students to devbelop the good habit of learning English not only in class but also after class.
